Part 2. Also playing Thursday evening is Placebo. They just released a new album, about a month ago, that was well received by both public and critics (not that I care about their opinion). The first single, called ‘For What It’s Worth’, was a Studio Brussel (Belgian radio station) Hot Shot in April.
After their show at Pinkpop at the end of May they seem in perfect shape for Werchter!
Last weekend I was lucky enough to be able to buy a combiticket for Rock Werchter. So this means four days of sun, fun and music starting this Thursday! Before that I’ll try to post some previews (-listens) for gigs I really look forward to.

Voor alle gastronomische (event) managers onder jullie, bij deze een goeie tip.
Vorig jaar had ik het plezier om samen te kunnen werken met Alfin Catering uit Gent voor een evenement dat we daar organiseerden. Een dertigtal event managers proefden toen van het kunnen van Wim Ballieu en zijn team en dat tot hun grote genoegen.
Af en toe organiseert Alfin het concept ‘alfin à table’ om mensen te laten proeven van hun cateringkunsten. Op vrijdag 3 juli is het opnieuw zover en worden 6 nieuwe gerechten geserveerd in de Hoet Bekaert Gallery in Gent.

Yesterday I was invited to the preview of BedTaste, a new concept by OCEANDIVA. For this they have decorated their youngest ship, the OCEANDIVA Futura, like a big extravagant bedroom. Together with the – dare we say – slightly kinky waitresses and quality entertainment this creates a special atmosphere.
To guarantee a gastronomical experience of the same standards, they have asked J&M Catering to create a special 5 course dinner. I especially liked the shiitake and mascarpone cappucino for starter and the kangaroo with mango main dish.
